Tameko and I have spent the last almost two weeks together! It started and ended with a 260 mile drive. Yuck. But It was all worth it.
I first went down for her birthday party where we went to the lake on a boat and went tubing and then swimming later (not me though, it was too cold haha) and Kayaking, which was a first for both of us. I might’ve at one point but I’m not completely sure. We tried watching scary movies at her party and we ended up watching The Mist. Which was alright but it took turns that I didn’t really like and it had a horrible ending too!
Well being a bad boyfriend I didn’t get Tameko a birthday gift for her party (but she hadn’t gotten me anything yet either and my birthday was a month before… exactly haha) so we went to the mall the next day and I bought her the Katy Perry CD she wanted. Turned out to be a good buy for both of us… :D
Then it was time for our church’s reunion where I got to see all my other Oklahoma friends and we all hung out. While there were some things that kind of set us back, mostly due to the troublemakers who were my cousin and another friend of ours, it was still a really good reunion and I beleive we both got a lot of it, and it cleared up some things between us too.
It’s kind of hard to get used to the person you love hanging out with other people when you aren’t there and then they get close to each other and you get close to other people as well. In some cases this tears people apart and it has gotten pretty close to doing that to us too. Especially when we both start getting jealous for two reasons, one, we each get close to people of the opposite sex and then two, we get jealous of the TIME that others get to spend with the other. If that all makes sense. I’m hoping though, that being with each other’s friends makes us more comfortable with the fact that (for me her being with other people) I now know them better and it is kind of hard to explain, i couldn’t do it in person either, but it just helps knowing that I know the people she is with better. This reunion really helped with that for me, being able to be with those that she hangs out with for an entire week.
We are also starting to come together on a spiritual level too. I thought it would be a good idea that we could bond on a spiritual level to add to the other bonds that we have. It’s not necessarly a new idea but it is one we haven’t really tried to succeed at. We’re now starting to wonder on a spiritual basis whether we should even be together or not. We each have expierences that we beleive mean we should be together for atleast the time being, but what about the future? If this is all going to work, we are going to need God’s help and in order to get that, we need to know that we should be together. This has become a focus for us for both reunion, camp, and in our conversations.
To lighten things up again, after reunion i convinced my dad to let me go back home with Tameko for a couple extra days so we could have some quality time together before I left. This is when she got MY birthday gift.. the first full season of Fringe. I’m excited, i’ve heard good things about it and I’m ready to watch it! haha. Well, that should be about the entire week. I think we really are improving and hopefully we’ll be back to the high point we had last new years again soon!
